Pastor’s Corner

As a church planter and pastor for over 40 years, I have realized how difficult and lonely this calling can be at times. Through the years God has given me a heart to be a voice of support and encouragement to these uniquely called shepherds of God’s people.

Pastoring has been identified as one of the world’s most dangerous jobs. It can take a toll on one’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

The Barna research Group recently disclosed that the average tenure of a seminary graduate senior pastor to be five years or less. The pressure, stress and burnout rates among these leaders is enormous.

My desire is to be a friend, mentor, coach or just a compassionate listening ear to these leaders. My hope is to become an encourager, like Barnabas, to those serving in the pastor role and to be used by the Holy Spirit to help provide an oasis of refreshment to those who have become weary along their way.
